53:14 Music Video Experiment

The 53:14 Music Video Experiment pairs 10 Colorado filmmakers with 10 Colorado musicians or bands and gives them a limited window (53 hours and 14 minutes) to conceive, shoot, edit, and deliver an original music video.

Another twist? The filmmakers and musicians won’t know who they are working with until the kickoff event on August 16, 2024. At that point, filmmaker teams will be randomly paired with musicians and sent off to create an original music video in just over two days (see schedule below).

Each team will have a budget of $1000 to use for whatever they need to complete the project. The videos will then premiere on Aug. 30, 2024, during a public screening at the Lyric in Fort Collins, Colo.

This is an incredible opportunity to work with Colorado artists to create a professional music video. See some examples from years past below.

Note that 53:14 is not a competition. Yes, there is an application process in order to be accepted. However, the organizers aim for 53:14 to be a collaborative, community-building experience.
