Community Radio for Northern Colorado (CRNC) general sweepstakes and contest rules
Periodically KUNC and The Colorado Sound will have sweepstakes or contests for a grand prize. You don’t have to donate to enter the sweepstakes. All phone calls to 800-443-5862 and emails to membership@kunc.org requesting entry during the sweepstakes period will receive one entry into the sweepstakes. All current sustaining members are automatically entered for sweepstakes during membership drives.
The sweepstakes has a defined time period for entries, and all entries must be received within the time period. The sweepstakes period will be announced on-air and online.
Sweepstakes’ winners will be randomly selected by a CRNC employee within 48 hours of the end of the sweepstakes time period and notified using the email address or telephone number provided by the contestants. If a potential winner cannot be reached after 5 days from the first notification attempt, such prize will be forfeited, and an alternate winner selected.
Prizes cannot be substituted for their fair market cash value. If the winner declines the prize, no other prize will be offered to the winner. Any incidental expenses associated with the prize are the sole responsibility of each winner.
Prizes valued at more than $600 will be reported as taxable income, in accordance with IRS regulations. The winner is responsible for all federal, state, and local taxes, if applicable. The winner may be required to complete and sign an IRS W-9 form or equivalent.
Except where prohibited by law, entry, and acceptance of a prize constitutes permission to use, without compensation, each winner’s name, prize won, likeness, and hometown on the KUNC and The Colorado Sound websites, on-air, and in other marketing materials.
The following individuals are not eligible for sweepstakes entry: current CRNC Employees and CRNC Board Members plus their immediate families.
Entries are limited to one entry per household. CRNC reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any entry that it discovers to be false, fraudulent, or in violation of these rules.
CRNC assumes no responsibility for any property loss, damage, or personal injury resulting from any prize won.
CRNC assumes no responsibility for an illness that is contracted while attending an event won as a prize. CRNC cannot guarantee that a winner attending an event will not become infected with COVID. A separate waiver to attend events must be signed.

Odds of winning are based on the number of entries for sweepstakes.
Some sweepstakes or contests will have different rules than CRNC’s typical contests. In these cases, the special rules will override this policy and will be posted online.
