Todd Park Mohr headlines the Colorado Sound Music Awards Sept. 18

Todd Park Mohr (of Big Head Todd and the Monsters), 2023 Colorado Sound Music Award winner Alysia Kraft, and Colorado ‘cumbiadelica’ band Ritmo Cascabel will perform live at the 3rd annual Colorado Sound Music Awards ceremony and celebration on Sept., 18.

The event takes place Wednesday, Sept. 18 at the Boulder Theater in Boulder, Colo. Tickets are on sale now.

Mohr will perform a special acoustic performance. Kraft, whom you voted as last year’s winner for Outstanding Stage Presence, will perform with her band. And Ritmo Cascabel will fill the house with a sound they call ‘cumbiadelica’ – think of it as a mixture of cumbia, psychedelia, and rock n’ roll.

“Last year’s Colorado Sound Music Awards were amazing, and this year we’re making them bigger and better,” says Margot Chobanian, Program Director of The Colorado Sound. “It’s a great night to celebrate the breadth and diversity of talent of Colorado musicians with artists and music lovers together in one place, and it will be even more special with Todd Park Mohr’s solo acoustic performance.”

• On the Rise
• Colorado Spirit
• Outstanding Stage Presence
• Outstanding ‘Secret Ingredient’
• Artist You’d Drive 105.5 Miles to See

You can read profiles of each of the nominees to help your decision before you vote. Note that the fifth category, the artist or band you’d Drive 105.5 Miles to See, is a write-in category open to any currently active Colorado artist.

Voting is open now and runs through Friday, Aug. 16. 

The Colorado Sound Music Awards ceremony and performance takes place in person on Wednesday, Sept. 18 at the Boulder Theater, 2032 14th St. in Boulder, Colo. Tickets are on sale now.
