Watch MTV’s First Four Hours
If you’re up on on your MTV history, you likely know that the first video played on the channel was “Video Killed the Radio Star” by the Buggles. But on that first day there was so much more, and you can watch the first four hours (from Aug. 1, 1981) in their entirely in the video above.
Posted on the Internet Archive, the clip includes more classic videos, commentary from the original roster of VJs, and vintage commercials, too.
