2018 is more than half over. We wanted to take a minute to look back on some of the releases from Colorado bands and artists that have made an impression. This makes one fun playlist for anything and everything Colorado in 2018. 

The Railbenders | The Medicine Show

What it is: An album of hard country rock from Denver’s veteran Americana fixtures.

Porlolo | “Wasting Time”  (single)

What it is: An infectiously folk-pop tinged single from Denver’s Erin Roberts-led band. 

The Still Tide | Each, After EP

What it is: A glorious new EP from the Denver band, specializing in luminous harmonies.

Covenhoven | A Kind Of Revelation 

What it is: An album indebted to, and sounding like, the seasons of change.

Audible | “Up, Up, And Away” 

What it is: An emergent hip hop collective out of Colorado Springs, who made a splash with this video.

Slow Caves | Poser/Rover EP

What it is: This emergent Fort Collins’ foursome recall early-aughts rock and punk on their Poser/Rover EP.

In/Planes | Radio Wave 

What it is: A unique take on classic pop and soul, this Pueblo husband and wife team show their doo-wop influences.

Nathaniel Rateliff & The NIght Sweats | Tearing At The Seams 

What It Is: Tearing At The Seams is garnering praise for the band and Colorado for the soul and rock combination it adheres to. Check out their live performance of “You Worry Me”.

Brent Cowles | How To Be Okay Alone 

What it is: The much-anticipated debut full length from NPR Slingshot artist, Brent Cowles. 

Leftover Salmon | Something Higher

What it is: One of the Boulder band’s finest, fullest songwriting expositions to date. 

King Cardinal | “Same Drugs”

What it is: A killer Chance The Rapper cover, and a prelude for new songs to come.

Rob Drabkin | Beautiful Day

What it is: A radiant, feel-good single with a throwback sound to the 70s.

Ivory Circle | Scalene EP 

What it is: A new Ivory Circle EP, a fun, emotive, synth-driven band out of Denver who caught our eye (and NPR Music’s) with this song.
