Ryan Adams & The Unknown Band is coming to Red Rocks, with First Aid Kit opening the June 14 show. This one has literally just been announced. And tickets are on sale – you can purchase them now.

Adams, who played Red Rocks last year in support of the exceptional Prisoner, came out with a new song today, too.

Listen to the song, released in time for Valentine’s Day.

Perhaps as exciting will be the chance to hear First Aid Kit at Red Rocks. Sisters Klara and Johanna Söderberg released Ruins this year. The Swedish duo work glowing harmonies and pedal steel in their Americana-tinged music. Ruins features R.E.M.’s Peter Buck, Glenn Kotche of Wilco, and Midlake’s McKenzie Smith.

Watch the video that put them on the radar, all the way back from 2008. It’s a cover of Fleet Foxes, one of their truest forebears.

Adams is among the most prolific songwriters of his generation. His discography includes the early 2000’s blockbusters Heartbreaker and Gold, his work with The Cardinals, and then his most recent solo works, where he switches from acoustic to electric sounds. His 2015 album 1989 is a cover of Taylor Swift’s album of the same name.

Prisoner came out last year, and is considered one of his better albums in a decade. Live, one never knows what to expect from a Ryan Adams show.  He can plug in, or strip down, and in last year’s performance, he did both.

While we’re at it, how cool would it be to hear a Whiskeytown tune or two? He told Stereogum last year when asked about a reunion: “Maybe.” Speaking of maybe, revisit “Wonderwall” from Red Rocks two years ago.

When he sings: “Maybe/You’re going to be the one that saves me,” he brings the house down. The Oasis cover is below.

We can’t wait for this one. Tickets will probably go fast.
