New Mastersounds’ ‘Let Me In from the Cold’ will warm you right up

When you learn that “Let me In from the Cold,” the recent single from funk/soul/fusion band the New Mastersounds, was recorded at Floki Studios in northern Iceland, the title suddenly makes a lot of sense. The song’s hefty grooves, though, will warm you up immediately.

“Let me In from the Cold” was the lead single from the Leeds four-piece group’s new album The Deplar Effect, released this past September. The song features Lamar Williams, Jr. on vocals, who also lent a hand on the group’s 2019 single “Shake It,” as well as several other tracks on The Deplar Effect. Williams is the son of the late Allman Brothers bassist Lamar Williams.

The Deplar Effect is the 17th album in the New Mastersounds’ 22-year career.
