Music 101: Songs Of Protest Music Throughout History
Margot explores the sounds and songs of protest music in a multi-episode Music 101 miniseries. Given the sheer amount of music written during and inspired these times, she also curated a Spotify playlist from each show.
In the first week’s episode, Margot highlights the music of the Civil Rights movement in the 1960s. You can access the show at our archived audio page for two weeks, and all the time at the Public Radio Exchange’s website.
Here’s the first week’s playlist. We will be adding more as the series continues.
In Music 101, Margot highlights a different chapter in music history, bringing you songs you love and the stories behind them.
Listen to Music 101 every Sunday at 10am MST on the Colorado Sound, with the same show repeated Wednesday at 8pm MST. You can also hear recent episodes on our Music 101 show page.
