On Tuesday, Calexico and Iron & Wine took over The Colorado Sound to share songs and sounds that have helped them create some of the finest Americana in recent memory, including 2019’s Years To Burn. That album is their second release following their excellent 2005 EP In The Reins.
Drawing on tastes across the landscapes of modern folk, Calexico and Iron & Wine are among the singular artists in Americana, calling to mind the deserts of the southwest and the lushness of the south. It’s a set full of those sounds, and more.
At the end of the set, the artists wanted us to particularly spotlight the set-ender “Con Todo Palabra,” and you find that below, and at about the 65-minute mark in the Takeover.
