David Crosby passed away yesterday (Jan. 19, 2023) at the age of 81.
Getting his start in the folk revival scene, Crosby quickly became one of the most iconic singer/songwriters of the 1960s and ’70s folk-rock world, thanks to his soaring vocals, mind-boggling harmonies, and insightful songwriting for groups such as the Byrds and Crosby, Stills and Nash.
“Crosby thrived on collaboration — a trait he discovered as a young child, after being mesmerized by a symphony orchestra performance,” writes Annie Zaleski in an obituary on NPR Music. His career, she continues, “was marked by countless reinventions and second chances.”
Photographer Lisa Siciliano (Dog Daze Photo) shared some photos with us, capturing Crosby during a May, 2017 show at the Boulder Theater in Boulder, Colo. All photos were shot on 35mm film.
