Free state park admission Aug. 5 for Colorado Day celebration
Thursday, Aug. 1 is Colorado Day, the anniversary of the date Colorado officially became the 38th state back in 1876.
This year, Celebrate Colorado is a weeklong celebration that includes special events and free or discounted museum and park admissions. For instance, on Thurs., Aug. 1 you can take free tours at the Governor’s Residence, and on Sat., Aug. 3 you can register for free admission to Denver’s History Colorado Center.
Plus, on Mon., Aug. 5, all Colorado state parks will have free admission, too.
Many more events across the state are listed on the Celebrate Colorado website.
To add to the Colorado Day celebration, on Aug. 1 the Colorado Sound is featuring Colorado music all day long. You’ll hear music from across genres and generations – from bands like Blakk Mantra and Pink Fuzz to Nathaniel Rateliff, Gregory Alan Isakov, and the Lumineers, all the way back to Glenn Miller, with plenty of surprises thrown in, too.
