Don’t think that just because it’s after Labor Day the concert season is slowing down. I mean, It’s Colorado, there are always a lot of live shows to choose from. Below is just a small sample of shows from our Concert Calendar that I think you’ll want to know about, from tiny house parties to stadium shows and everything in-between.

Thurs., Sept. 5

A couple Colorado artists are playing live tonight. For starters, the free Thursday Night Live series continues in Old Town Square, Fort Collins with Write Minded. And before Megan Burtt’s new album comes out on Sept. 20, she’ll play songs from it (and more) at the Bluebird Theater tonight. It’s her first show at the classic Denver venue in 8 years.

Fri., Sept. 6

Even though Swallow Hill’s main concert venue is off South Broadway in Denver, the nearly 50-year-old nonprofit (and current Colorado Sound Music Awards nominee) will bring some great Colorado music up north to Longmont with Wood Belly, Head for the Hills, and the Cody Sisters at Left Hand Brewing. Also tonight, Ozomatli brings their almost-three-decades of salsa/funk/cumbia music to Washington’s in Fort Collins.

Fri.-Sat., Sept. 6-7

After playing festivals around the country this summer, Big Richard comes home to Colorado for shows Friday at The Mishawaka outside Fort Collins, and then Saturday at the intimate Arvada Center. Also this weekend, Brandi Carlile returns for her annual two-night stand at Red Rocks, this time with the Colorado Symphony.

Sat., Sept. 7

Coors Field hits a ‘musical home run’ with the energy of Green Day, Smashing Pumpkins, Rancid, and the Linda Lindas. Outside of the fireworks after Rockies games, here’s a change to be on the field! However, if you’d prefer a show with fewer than 50,000 people, Paisley Underground band Rain Parade will play an intimate house concert in Boulder (our Concert Calendar page has a link with details on this unique show).

Wed., Sept. 11

Neal Francis (the solo artist, not the duo with a similar name…they get confused all the time) will be right in downtown Fort Collins at the Aggie Theatre.

Visit our Concert Calendar for details on these shows and hundreds more.
