Boogie Woogie
Hard-driving, syncopated piano defines Boogie Woogie.
Boogie Woogie On Music 101

Boogie Woogie is an offshoot of so many early American musical genres, including gospel, blues, folk, and several other African American cultural influences.

As a form, Boogie Woogie rose to popularity in the 1920s, and offered a swinging soundtrack to Jazz-Age America. Over time, it has evolved to such a degree that it is considered one of the early predecessors to Rock & Roll. In many ways, Boogie Woogie would provide the roll, forming the foundation for so many music movements to follow.
