A few of Ben’s favorite things

Now that Ben has over the Colorado Sound morning show, we asked him about some of his favorite bands and albums. Below are his answers. 
 
I’ve seen a lot of live music over the years, including some of my all-time shows at Bonnaroo in 2013. Passion Pit I’ve actually seen twice – once at Bonnaroo, then later at the St. Augustine Ampitheater in Florida. As for Pearl Jam, the show that’s one of my favorites was in 2006 at the Palace in Auburn Hills, Michigan.
 
I’ve seen plenty of other shows, but these are my top 5 all-time favorites. 
  • Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers
  • Pearl Jam
  • The National
  • Passion Pit
  • Paul McCartney

 

 

My first real musical memory was watching Tom Petty on MTV as a kid and running into my room to change into whatever colored shirt he was wearing. I still love him.

In case you haven’t heard already, I’m a fan of ’90s music! My favorite albums reflect that. These are seven albums I can listen to from start to finish, I never get tired of them.

  • Nirvana – Unplugged in NY
  • Pearl Jam – Ten
  • Alice in Chains – Dirt
  • The Strokes – Is This It
  • Primus – Sailing the Seas of Cheese
  • R.E.M – Out of Time
  • Daft Punk – Homework
 
And as for more recent releases, here are some of my favorite albums from 2021: 
  • Pearl Jam – Gigaton was 2020…
  • Robert Plant & Allison Krauss – Raise the Roof
  • Kings of Leon – When You See Yourself
  • The Black Keys – Delta Kream
