Arcade Fire Members Record A Mardi Gras Song, And It’s Awesome
Ann Ale! (Let’s Go!)
Mardi Gras is next week. And just in time for you to get your Fat Tuesday on, Win Butler and Régine Chassagne, the husband and wife members of Arcade Fire, have recorded a new song. You can hear it below.
The song, “Ann Ale! (Let’s Go!)”, was recorded in New Orleans, and features members of the Preservation Hall Horns and RAM.
The Haitian influence is instantly recognizable. The song will be played during a celebration of the Krewe du Kanaval today in New Orleans. Chassagne has Haitian heritage and Arcade Fire often incorporate Haitian sounds in their music.
If you would like to learn more about the event, which will raise funds for New Orleans and Haiti, you can do so here.
