53:14 music video experiment applications – last call

Attention Colorado musicians and filmmakers: applications are now open for the 2022 edition of the 53:14 Music Video Experiment.

The 53:14 Music Video Experiment pairs 10 filmmakers with 10 musicians or bands and gives them a limited window (53 hours and 14 minutes) to conceive, shoot, edit, and deliver an original music video. Filmmakers and musicians won’t know who they are working with until the kickoff event on August 12, 2022. At that point, filmmaker teams will be randomly paired with musicians and sent off to create an original music video in just over two days.

Each team will have a budget of $1000 to use for whatever you need to complete the project. The videos will then premiere on Sept. 2, 2022, at the outdoor screen at the Lyric in Fort Collins, Colo.

This is an incredible opportunity to work with Colorado artists to create a professional music video.

Previous 53:14 participants include iZCALLi in 2018:

Audible in 2020:

And Lady Denim in 2021:

Note that 53:14 is not a competition. The organizers aim for it to be a collaborative, community building experience.

Details on how to apply are listed on the 53:14 website, with separate applications for musicians and filmmakers. Application deadline is July 1.
